Packaging Products Tips for Shipping

Ever sent a package all neat and tidy, only for it to show up torn or damaged? So frustrating, right? It happens to the best of us. Sometimes, the delivery journey can be a bit rough and the packaging slip-ups can lead to such mishaps. Here are some easy tips that can help you pack your shipping products better and reduce the chances of the package getting damaged.

1. Choosing The Right Packing Material

Choose sturdy corrugated cardboard boxes for packaging products. They’re tougher than plastic and fabric bags, ensuring your package survives the journey without falling apart

2. Wrapping All Items Separately

If your box has more than one item, wrap each item separately in bubble wrap or packing paper. For items that could be sensitive to water or dirt, pop them in a plastic bag for an extra layer of protection.

3. Adding Adequate Cushioning in the Parcel

Fill your box with enough bubble wrap or packing peanuts so the items don’t bounce around. Just don’t overstuff — we don’t want your box to tear open on its way during the transit.

4. Using the Right Sealing Material

Use tape that’s about 2 inches wide. Duct tape, brown plastic tape, or electrical tape works great for parcel packing. Try to avoid using any kind of straps or strings; they can cause damage, especially if the products are heavy.

 5. Sealing Your Boxes with the H-Taping Method

Make an ‘H’ with the tape on the center and edge seams of the box. It keeps everything securely sealed during delivery. Make sure to add extra taping to heavier boxes to secure their seams.
